Penstemon

Penstemon is a reliable and long-lived perennial that brings delicacy and color to the garden. Conversely, if you leave them to bloom in the garden, they form interesting seed pods. If you prefer a tidier look for your flower bed, you can cut back the old stems right after flowering. This encourages the plant to grow anew, and you will often be rewarded with more flowers.
