The snowberry is long gone from being just an ordinary shrub in city parks. For us, it represents a valuable source of autumn beauty for both vases and outdoor plantings. The modern varieties you'll find here were bred specifically for florists' needs. They feature straight, sturdy twigs that can carry rich clusters of round berries and will last for many days in a vase. In the garden, you can put these hardy shrubs to use in several ways. They fit perfectly into shrub groups, blend well into mixed beds alongside taller perennials, and you can even create very nice lower hedges with them. They grow quickly and in autumn, when most of the garden is losing its color, they literally light up with a sea of white, pink, or red berries. Moreover, snowberries are very undemanding to grow, handle both sun and partial shade well, and will forgive you for less regular watering.
